Board Meeting Visited

18 residents in attendance ??  Many of you complain but never show up to support community ?

Its easy to whine about things.But put a face to those suggestions, I have put my face out here for over 10 years...6 years as webmaster of Anasazi Living and Anasazi Talk...

It was good to see that some important things we have been asking for years to get completed seem to be in the works. It was also a wonderful thing to finally have a budget report that explained many different areas of our money being spent, For the last 8 years they just read a bunch of numbers off that never made sense during a meeting. As stated here many months ago it was a great thing that Paul Jensen was made treasurer...He gets it!!    Russ and all previous treasurers were just a person sitting at board meetings reading a paper that many of those treasures  did not understand themselves..We now have a treasurer who has accounting experience.

Also under discussion was the extended security needed here and also about non residents using facilities. But all in all some good projects under way here.

One of the more disturbing things revealed last nite is that we set aside a small budget to have all elevators receive a oil change to keep them at top shape and safe.

The DISTURBING FACT was that this has not been done in at least the last 10 years !!


This is ridiculous and shows our previous boards of last few terms here had put all of us at risk with safety issues here not attended to. We have to many elderly citizens here to take the chance of someone getting caught in elevator during this weather especially. Thats because they were to busy using board for their own purpose

Some very positive changes are in the works, Paul seems to have finances under control and also believe Faye is on board with getting tree's trimmed and making sure property is up to par

We will always be the watchful eye here ....

A couple residents asked if I was getting softer here and I explained this Blog was started for both the good and bad here at Anasazi along with a place for event, food etc etc

But there are positive things here to report and that is a good sign...You all know that has not been the case in a long while here as our old board were too out of touch...With Janet and Izzy at the top of that list...We still have a little more work left and also losing a board member or 2 along the way..

Outside Wall Repair

Great to see that the outside wall along Paradise Village Parkway is getting a much needed patch
and paint.    Believe the outside of grounds should be as nice as the inside grounds  It good to see some of the work put off here for so long starting to get accomplished..Ever since we removed the handcuffs that Janet had around Waynes wrists we are moving a bit forward, This along with the 2 new board members who have expedited things here.

Its amazing all the things the past board talked about for 6 years is finally getting some serious attention.You dont need me to tell you there is a positive move here , might just be a small start but we are moving in the right direction.But still need a few adjustments to get it all right, And that includes the removal of Brian Mcbride, our last Non Resident Board Member. You all know his track record of doing nothing the last 6 years so further conversation is unneeded at this time.

The residents are banding together for changes after many years of residents just giving up as the old board was a negative mindset to most residents, But the uprising here in the last few years since the blogs exposed it all, have all turned residents attitudes to a much more positive one. We look forward to the future changes proposed and thank those who have enacted these new changes.

Hello after speaking with some residents today, Some said they did not know we had a security number in the evenings, Many said they would call after hours emergency number. The emergency after hours AAM number should only be used for unit or grounds emergencies .

Wild Weekend Here

Seems like we had quite a weekend here this last weekend,

Spoke with Wayne this morning about the residents complaints about the X-Rated Pools  this weekend and he informed me we also had another car stolen this weekend from building 8.

There have been a few of these here as my car was stolen from building 5,  a couple years ago

Some gate climbers from complex across the street who use are pools regularly here again.

We have a great security team here but do think its time to increase budget and have security here longer hours and on weekend days. Wayne is looking into other options also..This is a positive move and believe he also wants safety here for residents

This is not a judgement against security we have here as they do a Great Job,

 I sit on my patio every nite and always see security making their rounds..Just need security here longer hours!

We all know there is some dispute that we play the hall cleaners $ 6984.00 and pay security here $8000 a month.

 I think we need to rebid the cleaning contract first...This should be a $50,000 a year contract if you see what similar complexes pay. 

The security contract also needs to be raised as security here should be 1st always. If we had a realistic cleaning budget as stated we could take that savings and apply to security

As discussed here before a Front Gate Guard should also be discussed here.

This is a gated community and if someone checked all cars coming in  after office hours, We could solve a major problem here

This could be with a private security agency and would still have Phoenix Police here as there are now..Hiring a private guard is about $10-$12 hour...Have gate guard from 6pm -6am this would cost an estimate of   $3660 a month ...It is not cheap but it is also not so expensive that we should not have.There is a lot of fat in the budget still.

How many people do you see across the street or parked off to the side trying to get in or follow ??

These are just some thoughts and Really believe that this should be addressed as there have been quite a few incidents here in last 12 months including the arrest of a man wanted for Crimes against a Child in Build 2..A Shooting in Bld 13. Another Renter arrested for Drug Sales in Build 4..

Warrants and Arrest for Lady renting in Build 2 and she was the one letting the child crime guy live in from time to time.Her Warrant was for yet something not associated with his crime..Car Break Ins .....Etc

Pool Etiquette & Short Term Rentals

Residents being that we all share community pools , We should all remember to use pool etiquette..There have been some issues at a few of the pools here, We have received a number of emails about inappropriate behaviors at pools, also a long time resident I bumped in to shopping yesterday said she was at pool 1 last weekend and a group of younger adults were using very foul language, Enough to cause her and friend to pack up and leave pool,

She later found out they were renting for weekend ...Also at pool 3 we have had a couple who thinks this is the motel 6 and have been caught in some provocative movements in pool this past week, On Friday night they were disturbed by security in their lovemaking ??in pool

And the sad part was there was an elderly gentle man sitting at poolside for this debacle..We watched all unfold from patio........Scumbags

They were here for  4 nights this past week and never seen again after the weekend..Security should be allowed to ask what unit so we may fine those owners for renting for a weekend and to scumbags who have no concern for our property..( Thurs - Sunday Rental ?)

Another resident in building 5 looked out her 1st floor window last week and a young couple was laying in bushes next to jacuzzi  in Pool 3 doing ??? NONE of these incidents were residents!!

Also emails about pool 5 also late in evening...No one is saying you cant have a romantic late night swim...But some of this is out of hand

The Key Issue here is that most of us residents know the people that swim at our pools and can always spot a stranger...Most of these infractions are from short term or weekend rentals here

This has been a problem at Anasazi for quite a while and was always overlooked by past board

This is a subject we are going to go in depth with later in the week...I spoke with 3 different couples this week all here for 1 week or shorter and yes renting short term..This is not only against rules here but devalues our investment .

.IT IS  TIME TO START GETTING RID OF THE AGENTS WHO ARE RENTING HERE SHORT TERM  AND FINING THE OWNERS THAT USE OUR PROPERTY AS A HOTEL

Also below was a comment here in April about another incident..Anasazi has always been classy..Lets not let a few Owners who rent short term makes us trashy

i had an incident at the pool where a 70 year old "snow bird" was attempting to sexually solicit me at the hot tub. it was very inappropriate and awkward. maybe we should address this issue. she started getting very hands on so i had to vacate to one of the smaller annex pools for the remainder of my visit as this happened on two straight days on Comments

Never outside our condo next to cactus garden. Every Summer grass dies and sprinklers do not hit it in front of condo patios. What happened to the idea of desert landscape? And so agree these pine trees need to be trimmed or taken down.

 Needles make so much of a mess on decks and in the pools. Also why can't the junipers around the main pool be cut down or taken out. No other pools have them and they block our views, that is why we bought to see the pool. Thanks for any input on this.  Lynne

Lynne Many of the tree's here at Anasazi are well overdue, Brian Mcbride, Janet and old Board have been discussing this issue for years. I have also asked the last 3 years to have 3 dead branches hanging from my patio trimmed as they had been every year for 7 years...and in the last 3 years not once

BUT There is good news hopefully on the Horizon, New Board member Paul have implemented the committees we have heard about in fairy tales here the last 6 years

But these committees have finally been formed in the last few months

Faye Robert has spearheaded the campaign to get landscaping and tree trimming back on course...Her and Wayne and a tree man were surveying tree's that needed trimming last week...
I believe that we may able to find out next board meeting if they are going to be trimmed since we have taken the steps this far..I believe it is in the works, but would not hurt to send an email to Faye so she can get your request in writing as I have submitted also..

Mr. Sansone    I wanted to follow up with you on the conversation this morning about the plastic that was used to cover you car. The goal was to make sure no roofing material would get onto your car. This was done so by the roofing contractor for safe measures, not to upset anyone.  This was done on B2 with no issues. I did not want to send anyone to your unit at 630am. to wake you. Please accept my apology in this matter. The roofing contractor will be on your building the rest of this week. If you would like to move your car, that would be great.

Hello Wayne, After learning of why this was done this morning I want to thank you, It was appreciated and as per our conversation I know longer work nights, But do appreciate the thought knowing I did work nights. I will move car tonight so as to not be in way in morning, and again thank you for the heads up.I did enjoy our conversation this morning and do believe it cleared up some subjects that you and I had.Hoping this will lead to a better relationship here at Anasazi...
