Misconceptions About New Cable

Before I go into this post, We all must remember that Wayne and Sharon had this mess dumped on their shoulders by our Board of Directors.Many have called office angry and Wayne and Sharon should not have to feel the brunt of a BIG Mistake by our BOARD and not informing us sooner than when it was posted here.

There were no notes posted or phone calls made till we published here.

Wayne and Sharon do a good job here,and as in past years have had a non supportive board towards community relations,

Anytime I call office Sharon is as kind as can be and Wayne always has a few moments to spare..So put the blame where it belongs ! The Board!

Now the Real Story of how things have changed here

1st They say this is only temporary and we can back out after 30 days according to office and this is
not a long term contract!

FALSE: When we sign up for DISH next week it is a 1 YEAR CONTRACT or there is a $240 early cancellation fee....THIS IS NOT TEMPORARY!

2nd depending on credit rating the deposit with dish will be between $50 & $350
along with a $50 ACTIVATION FEE along with $50 equipment fee

BOARD did not disclose this either..many here live on Social Security and these inflamed prices are not fair to all residents

3rd ..We paid media west $131.00 on Thursday when they debted our account, We have been told if a refund is in order we have to apply

WHY: How do we get our money back from a bankrupt company and will we be charged 2 times this month?? From Dish and New Media west

We will be here all week watching as the Board tries to dig out of this hole they have dug themselves in. and keep you updated on all info as it is acquired

Where is our communication committee ??   Instead of taking blurry pictures of koi ponds every month for the newsletter, you should have sent emails to residents, But this is another story, I have volunteered to help with large email set up here instead we have folks on committee that don't know how, You don't have to like me, but my knowledge would be helpful and Its Free..I thought committees here was to help all...Not just put friends of Board on them for their support ??

The committee selections here were not thought out well many say..We have winters residents on landscape committee ..Not here cant see whats happening all year ?  Same story on all committees..Board picked their friends and not saying we dont have a few good ones, the majority are not here or never seen !

There is a BIG PUSH going on here at Anasazi and many are on board to put a stop to this before it gets any further out of hand
.The hidden agendas here at Anasazi...with the high HOA fee we pay here, we should be part of all MAJOR DECISIONS MADE !

HERE IS WHAT IS POSTED BY BOARD
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO NEW MEDIA WEST CUSTOMERS
At the Special Meeting this morning the Board approved the Dish Network Agreement. This Agreement will allow Dish to take over the service to New Media West customers, as New Media West will be shutting down its services to Anasazi on Aug., 31st at 5:00 pm. 

 The goal is to prevent any disruption in service to Anasazi residents. It will take about 3 business days from the date of acceptance of the Agreement for the accounts to be transferred to Dish, at that time, New Media West customers need to contact Dish to upgrade to their service directly. You can do this by calling: 1-855-401-5519, on or after Sept. 1, 2015.  You can review their packages and rates on their website: www.dish.com.  

This Agreement with Dish is non-exclusive and the options are being explored to allow other TV, phone and internet providers to service the property.



IT IS EXCLUSIVE..WE HAVE TO SIGN A YEAR CONTRACT !!

New media west is attempting to charge my credit card for upcoming month, We asked when they are shutting down and they said in process but no date

AND WE SHOULD PAY BILL ..THEN IF THEY CLOSE WE WILL GET A REFUND ??? 
HOW DO WE GET A REFUND IF THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS ????

THESE ARE QUESTIONS THAT NEED TO BE ANSWERED BY OUR BOARD TODAY BEFORE MY CREDIT CARD IS CHARGED AGAIN


If New media west is done as of 8/31 how come they continue to bill us, When does the new dish company take over billing. I will be watching to see. If we get billed again the next couple months by New Media West..Then we have another issue to deal with here

Yes 9am o'clock mtg is ridiculous, wonder what they have up their sleeve this time.  What happens at 5 o'clock on Friday when NMW turns off service? Are we then left with nothing?  Would you suggest we don't show up at 9?  Thoughts please...

Let me add there definitely needs to be term limit to these board members, I say 2 yrs. the ones we have now get too comfortable doing nothing.

No board member should live here only six months of year.  They need to be full time residents!!!

I would like to be invited to these resident meetings if possible.

You need to be president of board and get these yahoos moving.

Anasazi Talk Reply: Attending the meeting will have no bearing on the vote, It is a done deal temporarily they say ?   Dish Network.... I think everyone should decide for themselves if they should attend, I have talked with many who work and feel this was a poor choice for a meeting that had this kind of issue at 9am

As stated before the full time residents need to start being part of meetings again , many shied away after the years under Janet and Izzy and their Kingdom..Involvement is what is needed by all here..People gave up going to meetings with NO VOICE AND 3 MINUTE TIMERS

We allowed our fate of this board to the vote of 60 winter visitors with the vote debacle here last election..Many stated they were elected by the community..FALSE....NOT EVEN 10% OF OWNERS VOTED WITH WRITE IN CAMPAIGN...

Michael, after you received the email or the robo-call from the HOA early this morning, you had all day to change the tone of your last message. They are going with Dish as ONE of the choices for now, because New Media is pulling out as of August 31st. At least, we will be covered for now.

However, as I said, you have NOT changed your message to reflect this. Therefore, you are just inflaming the whole issue even further especially with lawyers, etc. Send out an email NOW to squash all these rumors and listen to the facts. Obviously, if the Board had stated that New Media was dropping us so quickly sooner, we would not be having this whole issue.

Hello and thank you for your comment, But before you attempt to issue any orders here, The first misconception is New Media West is not discontinuing service till 11/31/2015 according to Wayne, I spoke with him Wed Morning in length .

 The 2nd issue is the Board and Mgmt have known for over a month now, How come we did not get a call till I posted story??...

This should have been posted over 2 weeks ago when first planned, also 

The meeting should have been held in the evening when folks could attend and here the FACTS..   AND WHY NOT JUST 12 HOURS LATER IF IT WAS BEING SIGNED REGARDLESS..

Could have reached more folks with THE FACTS in Evening Meeting????? 

So I will not issue any email to anyone..We are not inflaming an issue personally, It is a large group of residents who organized the meeting and discussed lawyers and I attended.I did not believe a lawsuit was needed personally, But my position was to listen to what other residents felt and report it here. Just like the editorial in Newspaper

.So please continue to comment...
But do not ever expect me to follow any orders from you or anyone, I have been writing this blog for 8 years and will continue to print the things residents need to know that our board over looks..

Bottom Line is We deserve to be kept up on things of importance here, Not doing so caused the last board to be unelected !

The Office should have called everyone in the last 2 weeks week when they planned a meeting and asked for a vote on an agreement already signed 

And the office should take no heat over this..They are directed by the Board

They know they made a mistake that why the last minute scramble to call everyone

You know some of you hate to agree with me, But You know Im right this time  ??


 HOW COME IT TOOK THE ANASAZI TALK WEBSITE TO OPEN EVERYONE'S EYES AND FORCE THEM TO MAKE A CALL TODAY AT 1PM ?

Class Action ??

As of this morning I received an email from "The Group" that there are 57 people who have said they would be involved in a Class action suit here if Board approves Cable contract with out a resident vote

This is before this group starts knocking on all doors this next week and letters being prepared as the new  updated owners list was received by this group of residents

 SO LETTERS CAN BE SENT TO ALL OWNERS THIS NEXT WEEK

They wanted us to band together,
Well now we will..

 A long time resident couple has come forward with a offer of financial help to get papers in motion.

The cable agreement is just part of the problem ,

What has most residents here angry is

A SPECIAL MEETING AT 9AM

THIS MEETING REGARDLESS OF THE ISSUE AT HAND SHOULD BE IN THE EVENING WHEN RESIDENTS CAN ATTEND AND BE INFORMED TO WHY THIS AGREEMENT IS BEING SIGNED

Thank you to the couple from Build 6 for hosting this meeting

The office has stated this agreement is only for 30 days and can be cancelled at any time, But many here verrry unhappy with dish service here already!!

Dont shoot me Im just the messenger in this newest round of battles here at Anasazi

But must say ..What most people kept saying at this resident meeting was we have not seen a board member on the property in months??

Where are all the promises from those who ran??

Find it strange they pushed to keep me off board again, and yet I'm the one that reports the problems here on a regular basis and also did the homework on the criminal renters here last month, and the issue of the breaking and entering

 But office always calls to ask me what is happening in community.....While we have a new board with at least 3 dimwits on it..Sorry to say..But the truth hurts at times....

But right now it is time for us to push back and not let major decisions made with out a consensus of the community

The other issue plaguing the community according to this group is the Social committee...This is headed for serious opposition here in the future months..Many concerned we are turning the winter months into a Dirty Dancing Resort on the communities wallet for 6 months

What are winter residents seem to not understand is we wait all year for those winter months so we can OPEN OUR DOORS AGAIN, Just be respectful with the hours of your activities..Fair thing to ask!

We don't want loud pool parties at night or bands and music going here when it is time to watch tv at night or relax from the day of work

Many have claimed that any noise problems here this winter will result in a barrage of calls to police dept

Again just the messenger who was invited to resident meeting

I believe the social activities here could be fun for all if done in good taste and agreeable to all here. it may be a great way to unite Full time and winter visitors again after many years of a less comfortable relationship here

Bottom Line Is...If all respect each others time here..It will be a fun season and I along with many would enjoy some activities here..But just not centered around the winter visitors, These should be year round to benefit all here

Residents Swarming Like Angry Bee's

I have never been stopped so many times in 2 days as the last,
 People I have never met at pool talking about the vote here on cable TV

THE ONLY POST OF IT IS IN WAYNE'S OFFICE..HOW MANY OF THE 600 UNITS HERE WILL SEE THE NOTICE BY THURSDAY ?????

,In Building 5 I was approached by Jeff, Esther, Bob and Debbie, Dee Dee, Bill  etc, all who hate Dish Network and are all long term full time residents in our building

Walking the dog I was stopped many times And all saying the same thing..

How are they voting without  the MAJORITY of Residents Voting ???

                  STOP THE VOTE                     



This new board has talked so much about trying to bring community back together, where in previous years the old board played this gestapo tactic and voted with care or concern of everyones opinion which cost them their seats

How do you vote with out the voice of the winter owners as well as those who do not live here full time..This is peoples investment and they should be heard on decisions of this magnitude

Or the majority of us who work at 9am on a Thursday Morning ??

BUT Now you want to vote on an issue that has plagued us for 10 years and a subject brought up at every board meeting for the last 10 years

AND THE QUESTION WAS WHEN DOES OUR OLD CONTRACT FOR TV EXPIRE?

WE HAVE DISH NOW AND IT SUCKS, THE CHANNELS GO OUT 3-4 TIMES A DAY AND WE HAVE TO RESET TV OVER AND OVER, THIS WILL ALSO BE OUR INTERNET PROVIDER ??

WE HAVE A BOARD THAT CANT EVEN FIGURE OUT HOW TO SEND NEWSLETTER BY EMAIL AND THEY ARE MAKING A DECISION WE ARE STUCK WITH FOR YEARS TO COME ??

What is  sad is that the community was starting to slightly trust the new board, and then this and the ignorance on the short term renter / criminal problems here..

Many our shaking their heads in disbelief

A couple I was speaking with is contemplating a Class action suit here, and another says this could be construed as mishandling of our funds by Board

These are not the kind of conversations we had hoped for here after election, but its happening!

And through all this Janet Frintner still as the 2 Million dollar suit against us..

YOU NEED TO FIND THOSE RESIDENTS THAT ARE HOME AT 9AM IN THE MORNING AND STOP THIS MADNESS WITH A NO VOTE

This will not go over well and think our board needs to rethink this important issue many here are very animate about this votes schedule and the idea that it will not be voted on by ENTIRE COMMUNITY !!!!!!

THIS SUBJECT HAS NEVER BEEN DISCUSSED WITH RESIDENTS AND THINK IT SHOULD BE LOOKED AT MORE CLOSELY BEFORE WE SIGN THE AGREEMENT THAT HAS BEEN MADE AND READY TO BE SIGNED ??

All residents should vote , How about the winter owners ?? dont they deserve a say in this also

Resident Email

Why do the residents need to hear the landscapers buzzing minimum of 3 days out of the week?  Every   Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday

 I hear those weed eaters, trimmers, mowers.  Can't this be done in one day?  Is this busy work ?  No bush needs to be trimmed every week... Give me a break let those poor bushes grow like bushes.


There needs to be more bushes/plants/trees planted along Cactus Rd to alleviate traffic noise - then let them grow!!!
