And Yet Another Monsoon Storm Today

Today's Rainfall set a New Record for one day of rain, at Sky Harbor Airport...The old record was set in 1903

If any of you looked out your window here at Anasazi about 2 pm this afternoon, You would have thought it was  10 pm in the evening !!   Within minutes of the darkness we got yet another severe downpour here with much flooding in the area..As you can see we had lakefront property here at Lake Anasazi..lol..

But our crew was here working to fix any problems with flooding, as many balconies were poured on with the heavy winds that came with this extra heavy rainfall AND THE 70 DEGREE TEMPS !!!

PHOENIX (AP) -- Intense storms swept through the Southwest on Saturday, snapping trees and shrouding metropolitan Phoenix in cascading showers while also bringing flooding to parts of Nevada.

The skies above downtown Phoenix were completely gray in the afternoon as strong winds, thunder and rain hit the region. The outside visibility of buildings was almost entirely obscured by rain and clouds.

The storm forced authorities to close a section of Interstate 17 in Phoenix, with no estimated time for when the freeway would re-open. Flight departures and landings were halted at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport for about an hour. Airport spokeswoman Julie Rodriguez said more than 30 flights scheduled to land in Phoenix were diverted to other airports

Front Gate Calls

As of late I have been receiving many calls a day from front gate which is linked to my cell phone, On Friday
I had 6 and they come at any hour starting at 5am -1pm..I brought this up to Wayne and he said he also had other residents mention the same problem. It seems that some evenings we have a drive through back between build 4 and 8 ..

Not sure of the reason...But when you have a lot of in and out traffic It usually is not a good sign..On Saturday night I had 3 calls and did not open gate but watched each time from my patio as the cars went to that area...Advice is Do Not Open Gate ..We can stop some of this unwanted traffic by doing so.. Next step find out what is causing the Dairy Queen Like Drive Thru back in those buildings mostly in evening hours

Take a Moment Today

Please take a moment today and Remember & Honor those lost on that Horrific Day

We Remember
We remember the blue skies and the warm temperature
We remember thinking it would be a beautiful day
We remember it all being shattered
We remember where we were when we heard and we saw
We remember those who rushed in when everyone else was running out
We remember the unspeakable toll
We remember the smoke and the ashes
We remember the fliers
We remember the photographs
We remember the bereaved loved ones
We remember the hole in our skyline that will never go away
We remember the pain of our city
We remember when everyone was a New Yorker
We remember when life started going back to normal
We remember those for whom life will never be normal again
We remember that beautiful Tuesday morning
We will never forget

Boiler Change

Yesterday turned out to be a long day for the residents of buildings 13-14-15 with the changing of the new boiler having hot water off for a period of time, The workers started at 6am and were still working about 8pm last nite...This was a much needed fix here with winter coming in just a few months. This will ensure that we have heat even on the coldest of days, unlike a couple years ago when heating the units became a chore

You could have not asked for a better day to be inconvenienced  we really never have cold water period this time of year ....lol...But again another job needed here and long overdue...So a big advantage for a short inconvenience

Been a Tough Monsoon Season

This has been one of the worst storm seasons in a while and I have lived in Arizona over 20 years and 10 years at Anasazi, But A BIG Thank You to our Crew here who has battled through a number of storms in a short period of time here and working hard to keep property safe. Even after Sunday nights torrential rain  Wayne and crew were working feverishly dealing with the problems here. Many Many people could not even attempt to get to work yet our crew was here and working everywhere !!

The property was looking  good this evening and all pools were clean, much better than most communities around us and our area was hit hard..The 51 was closed at Cactus, Mudslide on 40th and Shea .......Etc

As suggested here a few weeks ago here... that all residents check the drain holes on your patios, Many patios had excess water on them and some seeping into units here.

Causing many flooded units

So take a few minutes and use a hangar to make
sure water can exit from your patio
(see picture)

Again Thanks to Wayne and Crew, Your hard work is appreciated !!

Flooding at Anasazi from Storm in Phoenix
All, I just had a conversation with Wayne on site and there is much damage from
water in many units from the rain and wind. They are working as hard as they can
under emergency conditions to try to address each issue based on criticality. It
is unfortunate that Sharon is on vacation and the temp was not able to come in
so there may be a delay in response to all the calls that are coming into the
office. AAM is trying to get a replacement as soon as possible but many sites
are in the same situation.

For the people that are on site, please try to help out as much as possible as
this seems like an extreme event that was beyond the control of anyone there and
could use as much help as you can give.

I understand that the power was out to a couple of buildings for a couple hours.
Apparently this was an APS transformer that burned out across the street and was
not an HOA problem that could be fixed.

Please be patient and respectful and help the residents understand the scope of
this situation. Keep n mind that the Governor has called a "State of Emergency"
which is an indicator of how serious this is.

Thanks,

Paul

Monsoon storms hit the valley hard early Monday and continued throughout the morning. Flooding could be seen on streets and freeways around the valley.

The National Weather Service recorded 2.99 inches of rain by about 7 a.m., breaking the old record of 2.91 inches set in 1933.
