Goood Job Wayne & Crew..!!

After this last 2 weeks of chaos here trying to get this parking job done,

 There is NO doubt that Wayne should get one hell of a pat on the back..Along with the crew

.And most of our Board a Kick in the Butt !!

Going to lay it down bluntly as always here,

  For almost 2 weeks Wayne and crew was out from sun up to sundown  trying to keep order here.To make this as easy for residents as possible..Some of you ignored all warning and made it diffucult for the rest of us

And believe me I was out there at many different times to witness the complete chaos people were causing Complaining, running over barricades SPEEDING and just being complete dumbbell's

Wayne and crew also stated that the speed here is out of hand, and again through this week

we saw about 80% of SPEEDERS were nice ole grey haired Ladies with the foot of a giant.

.Please slow down, after seeing the way many of you elders drive in this lot,

But through this all Wayne and his crew kept a smiling face through this adventure, Which I guarantee most of us would not have been able to deal with


Now Lets get to a big discussion that this brought up this week

With the exception of Paul Jensen who was out often watching over project, We never saw another board member show there face..PERIOD


What you new board members elected this year need to comprehend is these are the opportunities to show your faces and get involved

Here is the bottom line !!  If you were elected in last election and you are someone other than Faye Roberts , Its time you earn the respect of residents here

Faye was the ONLY ONE voted in with a mixture of all residents,  OVER 178 VOTES

 The rest of you were all elected with about 60-80 votes after the winter visitors banded together to get their folks in ??

 So your votes did not come from a majority that live here year round...

YOU ONLY RECEIVED  ABOUT 10% OF  ENTIRE VOTE HERE...NO MAJORITY BY ANY COUNT

SO YOU NEW BOARD MEMBERS DO NOT HAVE THE SUPPORT OF FULL TIME RESIDENTS AS YOU ALL THINK, AND THEIR HAS BEEN MANY DISCUSSIONS ABOUT THIS AROUND THE COMMUNITY AS OF LATE...

Time to Step Up......

AND EARN YOU NEW SPOT BY GETTING THE COMMUNITY UNIFIED AFTER MANY YEARS OF OLD BOARD DIVISION HERE

Clubhouse Refurbishing ??

After speaking with many residents as of late, There seems to be a concern about the refurbishing of clubhouse..Now this does not reflect on Dana Jones whats so ever as I support her fully as board member, BUT many residents  have discussed a designer here Rather than a group of well intentioned but not experienced decorators

I think that with this community  getting back up to the standards of years ago, Many are asking why we don't spend the couple thousand dollars to have a "REAL DECORATOR" come in and do a design for clubhouse??

With so many properties in the surrounding areas and the clubhouse is the first thing potential buyers see , Many here believe this should be done in the proper way and not a group of Ladies turning it into Holly Hobby design here...We need to get rid of the OUTDATED LOOK . ...NOT add another outdated look...With Mary Jordan working hard here to increase prices of units here, we should think about this refurbish a bit more than originally thought

WE ARE A COMMUNITY WITH OVER 3/4 OF A MILLION DOLLARS IN RESERVE AND WE ARE NICKEL AND DIMEING THIS PROJECT

This clubhouse needs to be updated and done by those with experience ...Not reusing metal or copper trim that went out in the 80"s  OR TRYING TO BUDGET LIKE WE ARE SECTION 8

THIS IS SOMETHING RESIDENTS NEED TO AGREE ON NOT JUST A GROUP OF 5 HERE!!!!

County Pool Inspector Visits Anasazi

On Monday morning we had a visit from the city pool inspectors office, from the looks of things we had some issues that needed to be addressed with Jacuzzi Safety Drains ?

 Looks like repairs were made and Jacuzzis refilled..

Also have learned that our pool fencing is not high enough or up to code ? This may be an expenditure that is upcoming and should be addressed at next future meeting with residents if this is something we do need here at Anasazi

As a 70 year old woman, it is hard for me to meet new men -- particularity because I like them much younger! There are a few 40 year old men around the complex I have had my eye on and would love to meet them!

Pool Gates Not Locked ???

After 2 more issues last week with folks in pool after 2am, I asked office and a board member how come pool gates were left open ??

The answer was we stopped locking them and paying the few extra bucks after the winter visitors left ???


This is not an option, We should not be left at the mercy of late night shenanigans just because its summer...DO WE HAVE DIFFERENT RULES HERE FOR WINTER VISITORS ??


I am hoping we start locking pools again as of 4/27 or this may be a issue to take legally ??

Same rules and amenities for all....If this issue is not resolved by our office and board , we may as full time residents take this in our own hands


I thought we were over this 2 sided adventure here with catering to the winter visitors...Lets see how this is handled in the next few days.... Board solving this issue ?? and not 1 month from now. lets get this issue fixed immediately. 

This is not a good start to try to unite winter visitors with Full time residents when there is different rules....  

The separation  between winter visitors and full time residents  here is growing much to the chagrin of many here, who hoped for unity after all these years ....

Children and Jacuzzi's

As many of you have noticed we are blessed with the sound of children visiting Grand ma's and Grand pa's here at Anasazi, I also have grandchildren that visit often...and enjoy to watch them enjoy our pools

BUT a alarming fact here as of late as many parents are Allowing their children to use jacuzzi as a kids pool...and spending long periods of time in Jacuzzi     -DANGEROUS-

THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND PUTTING ANASAZI AT HIGH RISK WITH NO RULES OR WARNING SIGNS TO HALT THIS BEHAVIOR HERE

The Red Cross and many other reputable web sights have said that Jacuzzis should only be used by those Children 5 and over and many say 12 yrs and older

I THINK THIS IS A SERIOUS SUBJECT THAT NEEDS TO BE AT LEAST DISCUSSED WITH ALL BOARD MEMBERS...Tragedies happen,

We see it every night in Arizona with Pool and jacuzzis and children...... lets just prevent them here best as we can ??

I'm a Water Safety Instructor through the Red Cross, and special attention is given to children and hot water. Coincindence or Reality---BIKE THEFTS !!!!

ANASAZI RESIDENT  ARRESTED FOR $26,000 IN BIKE THEFTS  !!!!

You read it here 1st...........

Now many of you remember a year or so ago , we had an issue where one of our security officers was falsely accused of being rough on a young man who was causing a ruckus here in community on a regular basis. His family got upset at board meeting ?? 

Only to find out it was all a farce  against security here for Breaking up Rowdy Clubhouse parties and alleged underage drinking arranged by this young man in our community clubhouse

Well seems this young man  Andrew Raad may still stay on property from time to time and had access to amenities keys here at Anasazi

HAS BEEN ARRESTED FOR $26,000 IN BIKE THEFTS

We have reported this story to Officer Nielsen here in hopes someone may look into this and see if there is a connection here with the bike thefts as of late ?? or just a coincindence ?

Thought this might be of interest to the many here who have had bikes stolen '

PARADISE VALLEY, AZ (KPHO/KTVK) -



Paradise Valley Police said they have arrested two men after recovering $26,000 worth of stolen property.

Several days later, the victim found listings for bikes he believed were his on Craigslist. Detectives went to a bike shop in Mesa. 
The trail began on March 30, when a home was burglarized and two racing bicycles along with some equipment were found missing.
The business owners provided a pawn slip for each of the bicycles, according to a police report.
Police arrested Dane Raber, 19, of Tempe, on April 7, after his name was found connected to the pawn slips.
Detective said they also identified Andrew Raad, 21, of Scottsdale, as another suspect.
Raber and Raad were booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail on felony charges of theft and trafficking in stolen property.

Calm Down Community...Pleeeeze !!

For over the last 2 months many many announcement's concerning this parking lot refurbish were sent out, addressed at many meeting and signs placed everywhere so that  unless you were blind you YOU HAD TO SEE THEM



Already on day one this place has been filled with Nuts!! Yes Nuts

After speaking with Wayne late this afternoon he was taken back by todays first day of the job, He was flipped off, swore at and also had many threaten to sue Anasazi

1ST DAY - Office had to tow over 25 cars alone

This kind of interference will only prolong the time of the job and again cost us more money due to a few knotheads that dont want to follow protocol


This is a call out to all that live here or rent...Patience is going to be needed this next week from everyone, No one wants to walk further than normal or have to park in a different spot...BUT It has to be done, You all ask for progress and when it knocks on your door you dont answer

Do please see the attached maps and put your Big Boy and Big Girl Pants on this week and deal with this 5 day upheaval here that will result in a more beautiful grounds and also increase the value here...

Everyone asked for progress and we have it ...lets not interfere...keep those chins up and a week from now it will be a horror story told at pools lol..

Too those who had your cars towed it was a $50 charge...

SO LETS SEE SOME WORKING TOGETHER AS A COMMUNITY THIS WEEK AND GET THROUGH THIS MUCH NEEDED BEAUTIFICATION HERE

It Happened ...Thank You !!

Well with the asphalt and parking lot repairs here starting soon, It was great to see they have added the 7 speed bumps voted on at last meeting



I would like to personally thank those Board members who voted this much needed addition to our parking lots.

For over 3 years I petitioned the "Old Board" to at least look into a solution for the speeding here, To No Avail.

After presenting this to our "New Board" We had a vote in a matter of weeks and completion in days!!    Hopefully this will allow folks to back out with out thinking they are on a runway, and with the large amount of children visiting here at Anasazi as of late, or elderly just trying to throw garbage I believe this is also very helpful in preventing an accident..

Thank You for Honoring this request

Very clearly just Respect the speed limit here and respect those in our community who share the driveways

Flying over the speed bumps should not be an option.......

Board is considering a fine for those habitual speeders..

Rental mania 2

Just walking the ground as I do do daily and starting to look for those units that do not observe rules, also emails last couple days about renter issues in their building

In Build 2, we have 2 units on bottom floor, One has a Young couple who put there cigarettes out on wall and have turned wall black, (2Weeks ago , Pete from Maintenance was there taking pictures for office?? but still black wall) also the same folks who brought their dog in pool and uses the island size raft in pool.... Now 2 units over from this one is a patio full of moving boxes and junk, it has been that way for over 3 weeks ??   All of above units are rentals..

One:  The question that has to be asked is...Where is this grounds committee ?? Again Many say ..How come those of us that live here year round and walk the ground daily are not on it ??

These last 2 posts of renters is just 2 buildings ...How many others are in plain site..But No one walking the grounds on committee ??/ If so these would have been reported ???

Much talk this week of Board members putting friends and cronies on committees and not full time

residents...Good question how can someone who only is here 3 months a year possibly know whats going on on property ??  Back to why we pushed for a majority board of  full time residents..The same should go for committees

These should be made up of mainly full time residents, I myself have offered but never received a call back or email??  Yet  I am on the grounds and around them probably more than any one here ?? And report 90% of things here , even Wayne calls me after weekend escapades here from time to time knowing I can fill him in ?

Take the  action on communication committee.We have Brian Mcbride who hasnt lived here in over 2 years..On Committee...These are some of the old  board tactics that are causing concern here so early after election and have residents gathering to chat ??...Again I run the Anasazi Discussion Board for Community..Think I ought to been in touch with that committee ?? Where better than to place announcements  in community?? ..

Rental Mania



Well I think its time since we have a new more responsive board that an old problem needs to be finally addressed in a different way as of the past.

The amount of short term rentals has gotten out of hand here at Anasazi,

 Lets start with building 5, last October units 104 & 107 were bought by a couple from Canada, they quickly redecorated and put their properties up with a management firm

Also a unit purchased in January in build 5 3rd floor  has a quick turn around and the last guests had a dog that barked for 12 days straight and also brought dog into pool and warranted many complaints on noise from many in building

Unit 107 has had 4 different renters in 4 weeks and unit 104 has had 3 renters in 3 weeks

On Friday evening the folks in 107 looks to have invited 3 carloads of rowdy people to our pool, who promptly turned pool 3 into a zoo, The noise , swearing and cigarette butts all over deck was for starters, Then one of the guys decided to pee in the rocks upon which I yelled this is where we live. I will call police, His response (This place sucks)

Now on Friday night Security was called over 5 times (From those that also said they called) including myself,
For this crowd of over 18 people who did not live here

 The problem also is the weekend guard who does not ever leave office. After my 1st call to Security I saw him come by walk past pool and walk away..Maybe you should have said something about noise complains ?? or the Jacuzzi filled with 4 rafts to make an island so 5 toddlers could sit in it ??..

With the quality of security we have all other nites, why are we stuck with this one guard who has become useless as security here on weekend, he doesn't walk grounds, drives his truck through lot ??  We need someone especially,on weekends that can deal with these issues not this Guy who wants to hang in office while collecting $40 hour. 

We have 3 great Security officers here the other nights, ,Officer Nielsen, Officer Wiley & Officer Jorjani. Are always walking and driving the paths and I mean regularly as I sit on patio often being a dreaded smoker lol..I see them every 45 minutes on any given evening.So how do we get one of these 3 Officers to take weekends here to help solve this problem

So to our new board and also Wayne, I will be sending a copy of this post to both,We need a new fine schedule here or different solution than in past as these absent owners are one of the biggest problems here at Anasazi

Bottom line is this Rental Mania has to stop...We need this new board to take a serious look at this problem, as this is what we deal with not only in winter but summer months also when many board members have returned to the peace of their homes, Well our peace and quiet should also be assured

To the BOARD and Wayne hoping you will take this under advisement and address this issue many were afraid to touch in past ??,..

.Don't want to ask someone the wrong question??  Bull Crap, we pay High HOA Fees and should not worry what some here for a week or weekend has to say..

And I don't mean be rude to anyone visiting our community, But if security has to be called he should ask what unit if they are even in a unit and report that so we can watch for those certain units that wont comply

I look to other residents that have same issue in their building to also send not here to publish

I spoke with many of you in surrounding buildings on Saturday and most had the same disgust for the foolishness we had to endure here Friday nigh

THERE WAS SOME TALK OF RESIDENTS FORMING THEIR OWN COMMITTEE TO CHECK POOLS ON WEEKEND AND DEAL WITH IT STRAIGHT TO POLICE DEPT....

Our new board may not enjoy this idea, BUT many willing to take  this action  over summer if this is not addressed ...This could be a can of worms ??

Appalled !!!!

{Appalled is an adjective that describes feeling shocked and disappointed}


Well I guess the definition says it all, yesterday I met a new neighbor who moved here

last week, a elderly woman, I was talking with her and she said she was very disappointed in an event that happened here at Anasazi today.

This woman went on to explain she was under going chemo and gets weak at times, Today she was walking to her car outside build 5 and got weak and grabbed for tree to hold on and called out for help 


She went on to explain a small group of folks on their bikes asked what was wrong and she said she just needed help to her car it was about 10 feet away).They responded that they could not help, afraid they may beliable if something happens and rode off...Maybe should have called some one??


2 sides to every story I will look to seeee if the bike riders respond??

Discussion of Cars Left behind

Many residents have been talking this week about the upcoming asphalt project here at Anasazi, One of the things many residents feel strongly about is that the HOA is considering absorbing the cost for the cars that need to be towed during asphalt project here.



Many residents believe if a winter visitor or other resident does not make plans to move vehicle.

THEY SHOULD BE CHARGED THE TOWING FEE PERIOD !!!   $$$$

Why should other owners incur the cost for a few who do not care or make arrangements to have their vehicle moved...We will be sending a letter to board to push for this action and it will also be brought up at next board meeting..Bottom line is all need to cooperate during this project for it to be successful

Board Meeting Results

Was a good board meeting  last night, Many important things underway here at Anasazi

Wayne could not emphasize enough how important it will be for the community to be patient with upcoming asphalt project for ALL parking lots here. This inconvenience will be well worth it in the end as this will really give Anasazi even more curb appeal and value. Please if you have a car left here during winter..Make arrangements to have it moved or it will be towed at your risk!!

I was personally pleased with the Boards decision to add 7 speed bumps to the community during the asphalt repair.This is something the old board neglected for too long even after admitting it was a big problem here

Thank you to the Board members for your vote of confidence in this matter that was important to me.

Also the immediate response after I addressed board members and Wayne 2 weeks ago about this issue..Thank you also to Paul for taking the time to walk the entire property and designate the speed zones or Runways as he called them. lol

Also discussed were pavers for remaining buildings that do not have and Board member  Ray had a great point that those building unit owners need to be educated on the pros of having this done. It is a win win for all with the Association absorbing half the cost

Also talked about new social activities committee forming and the asking of folks of who may want to be a part of

Also about 80% done with all roofs in community done...great progress here

Board explained any resident needing the additional strobe light in their unit for fire safety with hearing issues will have the cost reverted back to them the owner..This is a cost of $2500- $3500 per unit

Some of the things of minor concern were that we were over budget on many areas here and think that Bids may lower our yearly expenditure along with keeping in the budget.The reason there is a budget is to not over spend..I think further exploration into changing the process here for vendors and the start of a bid process here in the future.

Must say our Board member Russ Harris showed he is the last slug needing removal here,many glad his term is up this year, and it was the talk of a group of residents last nite after meeting. He argued with own board members about spending here and also was very animated about voting against Speed Bumps here

Russ also was questionable about us heating pools and was actually addressed by board member Paul finally explaining that this was budgeted last year and if Russ was at annual meeting he would have known, Paul then offered to talk with him privately if he would like........... If your a Board member ? maybe you should have inquired what you missed at biggest meeting of year!!

Paul had broken down the monthly of heating pools cost at many previous meetings and put it in language every one understood and voted for..You missed the bus on that meeting also

 Now for starters last week Russ tried to race and cut off folks at gate waiting and was scolded by my wife and another resident, Maybe this is why he VOTED NO to speed bumps and all other members voted yes.

Also was questioning financials yet he had to step down as treasurer here as the company he worked for allegedly would not let him do a presentation as treasurer with approval of his company. He has been a non active member of the board for the last 3 years and Thursdays Board meeting showed his lack of understanding for the community...But his end is near

Tip to Marta,Your a nice lady, But The statement that Brian Mcbride is a big part of your committee should be refrained and you should think about getting actual residents on committee not those that do not ever step foot on property??and has not lived here for over 2 years His name has no weight here any longer so using it as such is a bad start ..And yes I would volunteer for your committee and also social events committee..Look to hearing from you ?..

I have more insight into things at Anasazi than most and contact with many residents daily ..Who better to be on communications ?? Just a Thought ...Also it would work well with www.anasazidiscussionboard.com website which has Boards and Wayne's approval...Maybe start using that website  also to coordinate communication here at Anasazi...I will make you an administrator to the site if you like

But all in all things going well in the community and many projects underway.This Board meeting did show that this board here in the beginning is trying to work with the residents hand in hand which is a very positive move here and long overdue..............But headed in the right direction...with a bit more resident input  and cooperation we can continue the stride forward
