Careful..Excessive Heat Warning

The next couple days are going to be extra hot and possible record breakers

An excessive-heat warning is in effect for much of central Arizona from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Aug. 4 and 5.

Temperatures are expected to reach......... 115 degrees

.After slightly above-normal temperatures over the weekend, the mercury rose a little higher Monday and is expected to continue its climb. As a result, the National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued excessive-heat warnings from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday for much of central and southwest Arizona and southeast California.

Highs in Phoenix are expected to reach 112 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday. The normal high for both days is 105.
Excessive-heat warnings are issued when life-threatening conditions exist or are imminent.
The initial forecast early Monday morning called for temperatures topping out at about 108 degrees both days, but building high pressure over the Four Corners area helped the heat increase and caused the Weather Service to revise its outlook on Monday afternoon.
