Just a reminder Pool 5 will be closed starting 7/27 for 1 week for repairs and also pool 3 still has spa out of order during repairs

Careful Dog Owners (Poisonous Frogs)

As many of you have noticed with the monsoon season here we are overrun with Frogs and Toads at Anasazi, Yesss BIG ones the size of your fist..lol...saw over 15
on dog walk last nite, Please watch your dogs as they can be poisonous ....( Pics are from around Anasazi)

*********************************************************
Sonoran Desert Toads are olive green to brown in color and have lumpy skin, large glandular lumps on their hind legs, golden eyes with horizontally elliptical pupils, large, poison-filled parotoid glands behind their eye and tympanum (circular external ear), and one or more distinctive white tubercles at the corners of their mouth. Sonoran Desert Toads can be up to 7 1/2 inches (19 cm) long, and they are the largest toad found here in Arizona (
With their large size and frequent habit of sitting nonchalantly out in the open as they wait for something edible to happen by, Sonoran Desert Toads might seem to be an easy target for predators, but these large, slow toads are very well defended. If picked up or mouthed by a predator, Sonoran Desert Toads will exude a potent, milky white toxin from their parotoid glands. If ingested, their toxin is capable of seriously sickening or killing potential predators.
Dogs are at especial risk from Sonoran Desert Toads and can quickly exhibit potentially fatal symptoms of toad poisoning (excessive salivation or foaming at the mouth, head shaking, red or irritated gums, drunken gait, confusion, weakness or complete collapse, heart arrhythmia, vomiting, diarrhea, and pawing at the mouth). Seizures and death can occur in dogs within 30 minutes from a Sonoran Desert Toad poisoning. Once toad poisoning symptoms appear, emergency veterinary care is needed, but if you observe your dog with a Sonoran Desert Toad, immediate first aid can help prevent toad poisoning from occurring in the first place:
Sonoran Desert Toad (Bufo alvarius) First Aid for Dogs
  1. Turn on the garden hose (or other water source) to get a small but steady, gentle flow. Too high a flow can cause your dog to choke or swallow water. Too low a flow (a mere trickle) would be ineffective.
  2. Hold your dog's mouth open with its nose pointed downward to prevent water from going down its throat.
  3. Put the hose up to the back corner of the dog's mouth and direct the water flow forward towards the front of the mouth. Having the water flow out of the front of the mouth is very important because you don't want your dog swallowing or inhaling any of the water. Rub the dog's gums and wipe off its nose to help remove any toxic slime.
  4. Depending on your dog's exposure, continue rinsing its mouth for up to 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. If you are unable to immediately and thoroughly rinse out your dog's mouth, if your dog has eaten all or part of one of these toads and/or swallowed the toxin, or if your dog still exhibits any toad poisoning symptoms after washing its mouth, seek immediate, emergency veterinary care!

International Kindness Day 7/27/2015

Monday, July 27 is International Kindness Project Day.

THE SANSONE FAMILY SHARING KINDNESS DAY

As I have the last 4 years, I  will be placing 100 roses for the Children Gone Too Soon at the Angel of Hope in Scottsdale as my annual Kindness Day Memorial for the MISS Foundation..Join Me if You Like !   In Memory of Dawn Marie Sansone and All the Children Gone Too Soon

The Kindness Project

Live your life as a memorial to your beloved dead.

- Joanne Cacciatore

Tomorrow is International Kindness Project Day, a day when grievers around the world from the U.S. to England to Paraguay to Botswana to Canada to New Zealand will come together to bring their loved one's presence back into the world so that they are remembered.

I never imagined, when I started the Kindness Project in the summer of 1997, that millions of kindness projects would be committed around the globe.
This project was born in my heart on Christmas eve of 1994. I knew I couldn't spend the money that was rightfully Cheyenne's on my other children. So I took that money and bought toys for underprivileged children, and I delivered them alone the day before Christmas. I dropped them off, wanting as much anonymity as possible, got back in my car hurriedly, and wept for nearly an hour.
It was bittersweet, though much more bitter than sweet at this point.
Some months later, I was in a shoe store buying back-to-school shoes for my children. I overheard a family debating which ones of their many children needed shoes more than the others. They all needed them, commented the parents, but they couldn't afford them. I found the store manager, bought a gift card with enough funds on it to pay for all the children's shoes, wrote on a little piece of paper "in memory of Chey", and I quickly left before he gave them the surprise.
It was only 18 months later that the MISS Foundation was born. I didn't name the MISS Foundation - or any of our programs- after Cheyenne. I chose, specifically, not to do that.
Similarly, I valued helping others anonymously, knowing in my heart that Chey's death had left me with a greater sense of compassion and agape for others, but not wanting to be recognized for it. Truly, it was not about some act of nobility. It was pure love for my child, a strong desire to make meaning, and newfound- profound- compassion for others. I wanted to be her hands and feet in the world. I wanted others to know that this little child lived, this little child died, and this little child continued to matter.
And so my anonymous giving grew. And as it did, the paralyzing grief was balanced by something more numinous, more reflexive, and I felt something in the core of my being- something inexplicable- moving me.
At some point, I realized these acts- both the little and the big- were helping me to cope.
And, I thought perhaps it could help others who were bereaved. Because simply, we cannot serve others without serving ourselves. We cannot give to another without giving to ourselves. We cannot bring comfort to another without bringing comfort to ourselves.
The Kindness Project was born about a year after the inception of the MISS Foundation. Born of pain. Born of compassion. Born of a love bigger than death.
And today, now 21 years later, it is much more sweet than bitter.
I invite you all to join us. For them. For each of us. For the entire world.
Please visit http://www.missfoundation.org/support/kindness to print your FREE cards in English and Spanish and join us in this project tomorrow and every day.
You can also "Like" our Kindness Project page to get updates on the amazing stories we receive from around the world!

Imagine this:
All around the world,
on this one day of the year,
mourners will be transforming their grief into a
powerful message of love, hope, peace, and kindness!

Another Aggravated Full Time Resident

Received this email Friday !!

Nick Hermann  7/24/2015

8:38 PM (11 hours ago)
to me
Hi There,

I see where you guys are having lots of problems in Building 5, but I just wanted to add that we are having some as well over her in Building 12.  There are two younger kids (20 somethings) that arrived at the beginning of the summer to Unit 126 C.  They have dogs and they NEVER have them on a leash.   This also presents a hazard to me.

I use a cain and I am not quick on my feet.  I could easily trip and fall dodging this vicious creature and heaven knows Anasazi does not need another lawsuit.

In addition, I constantly smell marijuana coming out of their unit and they are always parking in the guest spot.  I'm not sure what spot is assigned to the unit, or that they have been granted to use, but they have left their blue Honda civic parked in the guest spot for a few days at least 3 times this summer.

Additionally, there is a white cargo van that parks in front of the elevator that is in front of 126 C that takes up two spots and it is very ascetically unappealing - it hurts my property values!  I think that they may be taking up the assigned spot to 126 C, but am not entirely sure.  When I see the van there, I usually see the blue Honda Civic in the guest spot.

There is also a woman that parks her light blue Chrysler Seabring hardtop convertible in the guest spot overnight on a consistent basis.  I saw her get out yesterday and she looks perfectly healthy to me.  Not a cripple like me.  She usually does it when the handicap spot on the south end is occupied and she will take her handicap hangtag out of the window.  I see her do this frequently when other handicap spots are open.

Who is responsible for enforcing these things?  As full time residents, we are stuck dealing with people that don't follow the rules.

We pay an AWFUL LOT every month to live in this community in HOA dues and such and I just do not see rules being enforced to the extent they should be.  If I cannot swim in the pool at 1amam, these people should not be able to abuse the system this way.

I also want to know, why are our HOA board members not walking the grounds to enforce these things.

This is getting absolutely ridiculous.  I don't even know if moving is an option for me, as these destructive acts by part time/short term renters wreak havoc on my property values!!!

What is a war veteran to do?!

Thanks,

Nick

Build 5 # 104 & 107 Owners ???

According to the Maricopa County Assessor's Office...The owners in question from Canada have a local Address ??....Here is the groundwork,   They have no phone number listed anywhere,
Now time for the Board to do the rest and contact this "Group" that has caused chaos in our building in the short year they have owned these 2 units.  At times 7-9 rentals a month ???

This constant hemorrhoid we have to live with can either be addressed by our board our have it bite them in the butt, The residents of build 5 are not going to let this issue remain !!..Residents in other building also complain about short term - weekend rentals...

REMEMBER WE LIVE HERE EVERY DAY AND KNOW WHEN THERE IS A STRANGE FACE

This company also has no listing with the Az Commerce Commision...........Real Company  ????

Due Diligence ??

TIME FOR OUR BOARD TO DO SOME RESEARCH AND TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE, After a meeting with 9 residents in Build 5 last night and many very agitated saying ..

"WE DO NOT DESERVE TO LIVE OR BE SUBJECTED TO THIS"

Majority of owners in build 5 very upset about this continuing problem and have been to office  this week on this issue

Bad Rentals..Bad Owners

For the last 2 weeks we have had a short term rental in unit 104 in build 5, Wayne has been very good on keeping an eye on this trouble crew along with police being notified, After much traffic here at all hours (Alleged Drug Traffic  ??)  and loads of merchandise, ( Computers , electronics) being brought in to unit in the late night hours,Somrething just seems odd

Then earlier this week a group of residents were getting into elevator and this unit was loading a large amount of GUNS in this unit.

Wayne has been in direct contact with us in build 5 all week and his updates are appreciated

BUT THE PROBLEM IS...

These new owners from CANADA bought 2 units and we have no info or a correct phone number on them in office.

.SO THERE IS NO WAY TO CONTACT THE OWNERS ABOUT THIS CREW THEY HAVE RENTING......They use a management company no one can find..

Paul Jensen ..They are your new neighbors ??

You would be doing somersaults if you saw what was going on next door !!

So office or Board cannot contact and make owners aware of there short term renters

Now I find it funny our BOARD had spent $500 to find out they couldn't keep me off ballot

BUT WE CANT HAVE ATTY FIND OUT THE OWNERS NAMES HERE

MANY MANY IN BUILD 5 ARE TIRED OF THIS BS...CARS IN AND OUT ALL NIGHT, parking in everyone's spaces and weird people in and out all hours along with cups and trash they throw out around ground floor

DIRTY  PEOPLE STANDING IN A LINE OUTSIDE UNIT, laying on benches at BBQ

SURE LOOKS LIKE FUNNY BUSINESS GOING ON TO US THAT LIVE IN BUILDING 5 AND MANY HAVE SPENT THE LAST WEEK DISCUSSING THIS VERY PRESSING ISSUE

We cant seem to get any help here from Full time Board Members and this has also raised some tempers

Many here very disgusted with Dana Jones and Marta Vega...

WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR OPEN DOOR POLICY OR CHECKING WITH THOSE OF US WHO NEED HELP

YOU HAVE NOT BEEN SEEN ON THE GROUNDS ???/  OR ADDRESSED THIS PROBLEM

_______________________________________________________________________

IS THERE A SOLUTION for THE OWNERS WHO RENT SHORT TERM ??............................YESSSSS

Many residents here have discussed this last week at a small meeting held at pool, and the simple solution is our new board needs to revise the fine schedule for these units as stated before..Waynes capability is limited by boards non action on this issue, that has shown it slef many time in the last few months alone

Drunks breaking into units, arrests for threats to our security officers etc  All renters or short term renters

This policy now of 3 letters of warning and then a $50 fine is ludicrous

IF YOUR ARE GETTING $1500 FOR A WEEKEND RENTAL...Whats a $50 Fine compared to ?/

Please , we have asked a number of times over the last few years for our board to look at this overlooked problem now.. Many issues with this same denominator as of late here

We just want a quiet safe place to call home !!

Rain was hard and steady for quite a while and then a calm drizzle later into the after 11pm hour.Rain is much needed here as everything starting to turn brown..This will help !!

But very enjoyable and rare evening on the patio here in July !!!
