Cant Make Everyone Happy...All of the Time

After hearing about a conversation with Wayne and a resident who asked Wayne if I was his boss??

First off this was a ridicules and disrespectful comment to make..Let me explain again about how things have progressed

As explained a few weeks ago I believe we are progress in motion here at Anasazi.... Wayne and I had a very lengthy conversation about the community and the progress that is happening

He also agreed to allow me to send him or speak with him about things I receive from residents on this website. And will take in consideration on the importance of each issue, I will not go into a long answer here about why....but for many years Wayne's hands were tied by old school board here that did nothing..Enough Said on that stale issue

So Wayne working together with me or with other residents closely is one of the things many many here have asked for...... community working together with management = Great deal for all

Wayne also knows I walk the grounds on a regular basis and talk to "MANY" residents a week.

So in closing you cant make all happy all the time, But a Majority will work for now

To Those with that mentality to ask such questions ...How come we don't see, hear from you at a Board Meeting or running for board ??   I have been active in this community for over 10 years and will continue to work and help keep Anasazi The place I want to live...This website helps provides that..
We have outlasted 5 Board Members
(1 Left to Remove)and 6 years of fighting to be the source for open forum speaking at its best..The discussion Board crashed and burned because it was like Scripted and people wanted the truth, Not Janet and Boyfriends version of the fairy tale she lived in..More changes here in 6 months than 6 years under Janets Board

I actually find it a pleasure to see Community and Management Working Together

Many have asked if I am considering a run for the Board ??
That is a post scheduled for the future , But no decisions have been made to this point, But in consideration as the support from many is encouraging

Another Monsoon Storm Saturday Night

I think our landscape and Pool crew are going to start boycotting ..lol...With mess the storms
 have been leaving.
.But clean up here has been efficient.

Here is story  and pictures of Storm that rolled through here Saturday night and the brunt of it just a mile away at 40th Street and Thunderbird and also Tatum & Bell Rd.

Here at Anasazi We watched a spectacular lightning show around midnight before the winds and rain came in forces..Leaving the grounds flooded with pine needles

PHOENIX -- A destructive storm hit North Phoenix Saturday night.
The storm delivered heavy rain, hail and strong wind that brought down trees and power poles in the area of 40th Street and Greenway Road.
The National Weather Service confirmed that there was a macroburst where the worst of the damage is located. The strongest wind gust was measured at 100 miles per hour. Hurricane winds start at 75 miles per hour.
"We had quite a storm that came through last night," said Ken Waters, warning coordination meteorologist with the National Weather Service. "It's a severe storm that has so much energy that it has to release it."
Waters said a macroburst occurs when strong vertical winds push down through a storm cloud to the ground and then outward.
The storm caused a lot of damage at The Edge apartment complex where trees and covered parking structures fell on cars.
"I started hearing cracking noises," said JR Reese. "I thought my windows were going to break so I grabbed my mattress and put it in front of my window. The whole building is a disaster."
Nobody was hurt but there is extensive property damage. There are reports of multiple homes with roof and water damage. It also appears that lightning sparked some house fires.
Robin Waress and her family had to find another place to stay after the roof of their home near 40th Street and Greenway Road caved in.
"I don't ever want to experience it again," she said. "We got like little shoots of water streaming out of  the ceiling, so we started grabbing stuff, and then you could see it start bowing and then it cracked. A flap fell and then an hour and a half afterwards, the rest of the roof fell."
Waress and her family had to pick through the debris, which had barricaded them inside the home.

ALL Damage in pictures is from 40th St and Thunderbird

International Kindness Day July 27th

Please do an act of kindness on Sunday, Im memory of the children gone too soon

As Kindness Day approaches on July 27th, I have the last 4 years taken 100 Roses and laid them at the Stones of the Children gone too soon at the Angel of Hope and Also roses at the Angel .

This year I will continue the tradition and fill the Angel of Hope with Love for all the Children Taken too soon. Please think about doing a Random Act of Kindness on July 27th.

If you wish to join me Send me a private message

About the Kindness Project
The Kindness Project began in 1996 as a way for families to honor their deceased child and to help themselves heal. Now, years later, almost 2,000,000 (yes, two million!) Kindness Project cards have been used around the world to perform random acts of kindness in memory of a child, parent, friend, or spouse who died before their time.
The idea is to perform random acts of, usually anonymous, acts of kindness in your community. A little card is left behind so that the person who benefits from the kindness knows that someone's life and death continues to matter. This beautiful movement has helped thousands of families to heal and find positive outlets for their overwhelming grief.

The History of the Kindness Project

The Kindness Project is a worldwide movement to share our children (or other loved ones) with those who never had the honor to meet them. Let me tell you why we are so excited about this project...

Dr. Joanne Cacciatore's daughter, Cheyenne, died in July of 1994. It was the worst day of her life. She says how she never imagined herself laughing or experiencing joy again.

Dr. Jo began to seek out ways to keep Cheyenne's memory alive within her family and to the rest of the world: She wanted to create a quiet legacy. She wanted people to know that Cheyenne existed and, more importantly, she wanted to help change the lives of others because of her presence on this earth.

So Dr. Jo set out on various missions of random kindness. On a daily basis, she looked for opportunities to reach out and do something unexpected and unusually kind for someone else. Most often, strangers were the recipients of these good deeds. As she did them, she began to feel a sense of peace in knowing that Cheyenne was the reason for her compassionate enlightenment

The Kindness Project blossomed out of the extraordinary experiences Dr. Jo had while doing things for others. She discovered that truly miraculous things happen to our spirits when we reach out to help others, and so she sought a way to share that movement with others.
It is our hope that through the Kindness Project, we can make incredible transformations within our communities, in our families, and in ourselves. Just imagine if every person touched by death would participate in helping to transform the world into a gentler and more altruistic world! What an impact this would have on so many levels!

The Kindness Project reminds others that our children, and other loved ones, are so very important to us that we are willing to extend the life and love of our child and share it with others! It is a legacy that transcends death. It is a legacy of love.

Progress.... Progress

As many of you can see many overdue jobs are in the works right now, Many buildings and out side fence is in process of having cracks repaired and new paint. The crew has been out there through all this heat and being doing a great job. If you see them working near your unit ? Offer
them something cold to drink.

This heat is unbearable and with us breaking records 2 days in a row at 115 Degree's, It may be worth the conversation about grounds crew working some different hours during these couple brutally hot months. Many companies start earlier in the summer months to combat some of this.. There are many jobs that could be done here starting earlier in summer that would not involve disturbing residents

Just a Thought .....

Good Question

7/23/2014    Comment On Petsmart Post

Hi Mike - Why are people reporting these violations to you and not the office? I went to the office this morning and asked Sharon if anyone reported the apt. with the cats. She said no. I didn't see any cats when I walked by, but the fence is definitely a no-no. I hope they have someone investigate and also take down that fence. on Petsmart ?     Dana

*****************************************************************

I thought about this a bit before replying, And in reality for so many years folks did not want to deal with office of which is changing for the better in the last 6 months, Also many enjoy the anonymity here to talk about issues..Many were present over the years on how you were scolded here for speaking up

This Blog was also designed in its early years to bring the residents voice out in the open, Something that was unheard of here for many years, This blog had a many years of reporting many negative things that were present here at Anasazi as you well know, But with some very positive changes going on here it shows the involvement of the community has skyrocketed since the inception of this website and has also helped in getting most of the old board out of office with just a little more to go.

Many think this was only a place for negativity but it was designed to be both positive and negative in its inception, But we had many negative years along the way, I think with things changing in a good direction here this will become the place it was designed for  "THE RESIDENTS VOICE"   As always Dana I appreciate your comments and talking with you always, I hold your opinions and ideas here with the utmost respect This Blog can now be the voice it was intended a place for residents to speak and offer suggestions...It is the same concept that Janet Frintner and her Boyfriend tried to copy a few years ago with the discussion board..Another flop on that boards record...

We are the Original  !!!

***********************************************

In your response to the Cat patio, I noticed today someone removed all the bushes from that unit and exposed it even more...I AGREE this needs to be rectified immediately, Wondering why bush that looked healthy was removed suddenly /

Residents Behavior ??

Well this post starts on a different note, With some positive changes starting here , We need to get some residents on board with proper behavior here also, We can only ask board for certain
things and some things we need residents to start acting correctly

Have had a number of residents  tell me we have a lady at pool 1 as of late who has threatened more than 1 resident ??

Received E Mails on the following ........

We have a renter in Build 2 That shave her dogs hair and throws the piles of hair over balcony into courtyard

We have residents last week with a Dog swimming in pool 3

We have a resident in building 16 who has a dog that she lets run free in courtyard with no leash ever!

We have a resident in build 14 throwing cigarette butts over patio

We have WAY TOO MANY Residents with patios that look like the Beverly Hillbillies
We have new residents in build 16 who have about 5 cats and more gates and wrong color shades on patios as they allow cats to live outside on patio...Disgusting
***************************************************************
Who has this committee ?? There  is a issue here with patios, The grounds need to be walked and many of these can be taken care of by addressing owners

We have way too many pet owners not cleaning up after their pets ??

The list is quite long and these issues with be future posts here

Cmon residents you must also do your part here to keep Anasazi a Great Community

I have received many emails as to patios that need a letter from office, Next week we will start printing pictures of  these patios. If you see a patio thats a needs cleaning,  please send pics to us at.

Disappointed Resident ..........

Kathy Ekazzzt@********

7/17/2014
to me
Gee it would have been nice if they (tree trimmers or whomever) would have checked w/owner before chopping down branches that were beautiful outside my dining area. Now I get to look out at bare branches and top of parking covers-ugh !!!

Since my dining area faces West,

WAS a nice buffer from sun/heat.

Disappointed to say the least.

Extreme Heat Information

Some Helpful Information ....

Arizona is one of the hottest places on earth from May to September. Heat-related illnesses are Trends in Morbidity and Mortality from Exposure to Excessive Natural Heat in Arizona, 2012 report.
common during the summer. Year after year, nearly 2,000 people visit Arizona emergency rooms because of heat-related illnesses. Some heat-related illnesses could even be fatal. Over 1,500 deaths from exposure to excessive natural heat have occurred in Arizona from 2000 to 2012. A summary of heat-related deaths and illness has been reported in the
.
Preventing Heat-Related Illness

Your body keeps itself cool by letting heat escape through the skin, and by evaporating sweat (perspiration). If your body does not cool properly or does not cool enough, you might suffer from a heat-related illness.
Anyone can be susceptible to heat-related illness. Those at greatest risk are children under 4, adults over 65, homeless people, outdoor workers, people who are overweight, and people who are ill or on certain medications. Heat-related illness may be serious or even deadly if unattended.
Staying healthy during the summer is easier if you take the time to protect yourself by making sure you are drinking enough water and limiting your exposure to the heat. Follow these simple rules:
  • Drink water. Even people that stay mostly indoors all day should drink at least 2 liters of water per day. People that spend time outdoors should drink 1 to 2 liters per hour that they are outdoors. People that do strenuous activity outdoors should be very careful, being your body can lose up to 4 liters of water per hour during strenuous activity. You should carry water with you and drink even if you do not feel thirsty. Be heat safe and avoid alcohol and caffeine, which dehydrate the body. Avoid using salt tablets unless directed to do so by a physician.
  • Dress for the heat. Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing. Light colors will reflect away some of the sun's energy. It is also a good idea to wear hats or to use an umbrella. Always apply sunscreen to exposed skin.
  • Eat small meals and eat more often. Avoid foods that are high in protein which increase metabolic heat.
  • Slow down. Avoid strenuous activity. If you must do strenuous activity, do it during the coolest part of the day, which is usually in the morning between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
  • Stay indoors when possible.
  • Take regular breaks when engaged in physical activity on warm days. Take time out to find a cool place. If you recognize that you, or someone else, are showing symptoms of a heat-related illness, stop activity and find a cool place. Remember, have fun, but stay cool!

Signs & Symptoms of Heat-Related Illness

When temperatures are on the rise, watch for the following symptoms:
  • Thirst: By the time your body tells you that you are thirsty, you are already mildly dehydrated.
  • Heat cramps: Heat cramps are muscular pains and spasms due to heavy exertion. They usually involve the abdominal muscles or the legs. The loss of water and salt from heavy sweating causes heat cramps.
  • Heat Exhaustion: Heat exhaustion is less dangerous than heat stroke. It typically occurs when people exercise heavily or work in a warm, humid place where body fluids are lost through heavy sweating. Fluid loss causes blood flow to decrease in the vital organs, resulting in a form of shock. With heat exhaustion, sweat does not evaporate as it should, possibly because of high humidity or too many layers of clothing. As a result, the body is not cooled properly. Signals include cool, moist, pale, flushed or red skin; heavy sweating; headache; nausea or vomiting; dizziness; and exhaustion. Body temperature will be near normal.
  • Heat Stroke: Also known as sunstroke, heat stroke is life-threatening. The victim's temperature control system, which produces sweating to cool the body, stops working. The body temperature can rise so high that brain damage and death may result if the body is not cooled quickly. Signals include hot, red and dry skin; changes in consciousness; rapid, weak pulse; and rapid, shallow breathing. Body temperature can be very high—sometimes as high as 105° F.

Again With The Pool Floats

After talking with 2 different couples  this weekend at pool 3 , They advised me that they both were reprimanded by a resident at pool 5 that Floats were not allowed in pool 5?...First off this was a old rule by  " Janets Old Board" at that time they said floats were only allowed in pool 2 and 3 and many residents were up in arms

A year ago the pool rules were changed and posted

They were simple

No Glass in Pool

No Running

Residents must accompany guests

Single rafts were allowed in all pools

This meant single rafts not islands or giant floats

BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS FLOATS ARE ALLOWED IN ALL POOLS

Wayne.....Think its time you posted these rules please at all mailboxes and such, We have a long summer ahead and this would take away the confusion..Thanks

                               ACCEPTABLE FLOAT AT ANASAZI
                               UNACCEPTABLE FLOAT AT ANASAZI
PS: THANK YOU WAYNE FOR ADDRESSING THE       MISTERS IN POOL 3 QUICKLY....Appreciated !!

I have had a few emails this week asking if Wayne could turn on the misters in pool 3, The water

How over due this project was and neglected for too many years by prior Board

As you drive in gate and look right you can see how nice the trees are starting to look...Great Job...But lets make sure the whole job is completed , We had too much half assed projects in the past..Things are moving forward slowly and we want to stay in that direction

Great Question to Ponder

Have any of you asked your self......" Why do we have a Board president who does not live here period"?  or Why he wants to be on Board where he doesn't live?

Good Question

Attends no events or involved in any things here other than his monthly stop for board meeting.Never walks the grounds etc ..He lives in an HOA Community in Scottsdale

Many years ago when Brian and Wife had units here and lived here there may have been a reason to be on board, Now we all know Diane Paulosky- Mcbride used in her sales pitches here always that her husband was on Board. Since we exposed her tactics here, you don't see her signs every where like the old days. Many residents that used her once have decided to not use her again. My neighbors bought here in 2012 and used Diane, when buying another unit in 2014 they also decided against her for 2nd buy here. For years they used Anasazi as their cash cow

Now for over 2 years Brian Mcbride has not resided here at Anasazi... period,
he owns 1 unit his Mother lives in

We have started to go in a positive direction here and think it is time this election to remove the last remnant of the old shady board we had here for too long

It is time to continue to move forward and that means residents that live here controlling our money and community.

The New generation of Anasazi Residents  removed Izzy, Robert Burchmore first and Janet last year in a landslide loss

The Residents really spoke out on that election

Bottom Line is Brian Mcbride needs  to resign at end of term or be voted out of office

The residents have banded together the last few years and we have finally got on the start of things long overdue being put into motion. I have spoke with many many of you who also agree its time to lose the last anchor here

4 Long Years...Finally... Thank You !!

Well this is a post headed to a good spot....As many of you readers who have been around since the Anasazi Living website, You know that I and many residents have been asking for tree's to be trimmed here at Anasazi.

For the 1st 6 years I lived here they were trimmed regularly for view also !! Yes for View...Then the Board of Do nothings took over and that all stopped..4 YEARS I have asked to have 4 dead wasp living branches removed from tree outside my patio......Before Picture >>

Then On Tuesday Wayne and a group of Maintenance men showed up and said your tree is first..And asked which branches needed trimming. They were able to trim the lower branches which made a big difference already. Wayne also stated that they are in process of bidding a tree trimmer for the higher cuts needed here  and that the JOB will be finished. This was much appreciated ..We still have many to go ..but progress is in the works and that is a positive move forward..

We all know we just need a few more in this upcoming  election to get more Full time  Residents involved on Board and remove last of old members and non residents that have held up progress all these years

With the 2 new board members and the community being involved again after dormant many years we have made some positive moves forward.

Trimmed Tree Pics...........
